Quality status (08-02-12)Carlton Parish Council has been awarded Quality status - the Certificate and Charter were presented to Judith Boston (Vice Chairman) by Jake Atkinson (Chief Officer of the Leicestershire & Rutland Association of Local Councils) in a short ceremony before the PC Meeting on 8th February. The award is evidence that the Parish Council has been found to be effective and well-managed.
There are around 9,000 parish councils in England, of which 698 have achieved Quality status so far. There are 14 other Quality Councils in Leicestershire. With only 254 registered electors Carlton is the smallest Council in Leicestershire to achieve Quality status and one of the smallest in the country.
